We recently worked with the owners of The Mill, located in Fuquay-Varina. They hosted an event for The United Arts, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?
Originally a local drug store, the space sat empty for many years and had fallen into disrepair. Three partners joined together to purchase the building and convert it to an event space, coffee, dessert, wine and craft beer bar. Furnishings are made with reclaimed wood and the beautiful terrazzo floors were saved!
The owners wanted a theme that would compliment the space. We utilized two tablescapes. Broquel by Anne, our beautifully designed Italian dinnerware and Harvest Gathering, the persimmon plates handcrafted in Portugal. The event was centered around the arts so we utilized beautiful leather bound art books which helped elevate the glass candlesticks. Pops of color were arranged around the base of the books and topped off with simple votive candles.
The space was elegant and the dishes paired well with the urban feel of the room.
It was a great night with lots of community spirit. Fuquay-Varina native, Chris Knott, founder of Peter Millar was the guest artist. Chris spent the evening with the guests and was able to discuss how his artfully designed clothing and accessory line was built from the ground up. We had a great time working with these owners. Make sure you check out their space!
